I am working on a river...grasses...red poppies peeking through - as it's getting closer to spring. I can feel it. I look all around and see the blossoms starting to come out...I will add a little more detail when back in the studio....I like the looseness though, the abstraction.

 It's the start of the week and I just returned from Mexico where the colours are taking a hold of the paintbrush...a combination of the beautiful walls and the composition of a place...

I have been knee deep in a wonderful commission I am working on for a family in Mill Valley.  I am working from a photograph, but creating my own interpretation of the place. It is a place that clearly means a lot to the family and the view I look at to interpret daily - is outstanding.

I am slowly working on a series of works for the summer show at the Harrison Gallery in Williamstown, MA...it is a show celebrating 10 years...I have been with the gallery for a decade and so we are trying to pull together a series of works for the exhibition. The gallery director was hoping to see works that bring up the past ten years....my barns, rows of trees, my pathways...it's going to be a fun journey.

A work in progress in the studio...it has a very good feel to it for me as I'm going away from the horizon line and digging in the "dirt" so to speak....really liking the warmth of the colours and the richness of the earth.
