The road ahead.

Sunrise walk.

I am an early riser...if I'm not in my running shoes at 5am, it's quite unusual. This particular morning was so cold though and so three sweaters went on along with my winter hat...felt better to walk and take in the sun rising. A great time to think, reflect, honor the nature around me at a bit of a slower pace.

Harvest Festival. The Berkshires.

There was a very fun harvest festival at the botanical gardens here in the Berkshires the other day and as I wandered about, I caught some of these Fall colours. The first image is a beautiful outdoor architectural piece designed by Christine Sprague and built by Jay Rhind as an installation for the gardens...a place to rest, a place for creative inspiration---on the other side of the arch is a quiet and protected place to sit....an excerpt from the project...

Garden folly designed and constructed as a benefit to the 2012 “Gimme Shelter” Architects Exhibit. The shelter combines a green roof, mahogany sleeping platform, and a large skylight and presents a place to sit or recline and contemplate the lovely pond. The rough timber frame with raised floor and laminated curved rafters was constructed by Jay Rhind Builders. The green roof was designed and planted by Rob Gennari of Glendale Botanicals.

This is a buddhist wishing tree at the botanical gardens which I thought was so special...just walking around and seeing some of the words...you write your wish on the little label and think about it before attaching it to the tree...I wrote one which is very important to me and so now it's out there moving about in the wind and seamlessly performing its magic.

I love these subtle details. A doorway, an arch, a touch of green.
