By the Sea 24 X 48" (@ The Eisenhauer Gallery, Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard)

Nature stops me in my tracks daily.

A good day in the Studio.

The Morning Hours 48 X 50" (@ Nahcotta Gallery, Portsmouth, NH)

I have an incredible love for painting dunes. I never tire of it. They always change in the seasons and different lights of day. And there is always the mystery of what is on the beach beyond. And of course the beautiful blue horizon line.

A summer inspired painting in my home...

My painting hangs above this old children's table from France I bought years ago for the kids. It only stands under two feet tall and my daughter who is 9 still manages to sit there daily and draw. My 13 year old at times as well. It's had a lot of history. My painting of the summer season of beach color and inspiration hangs above them to brighten their mornings. I have a love of color, pencils, pens and having them organized...years of history in those pens too...

Side by Side 30 X 40"

This painting is being sent to the Eisenhauer Gallery with other pieces to be added to their summer collection!

Colorful.

This pencil collection started when I was a little girl and just kept growing over time.
I always carried a set around with me and just loved coloring in my sketchbooks. I would keep travel journals and collect every bit of memorabilia I could....postcards, stamps, tickets, newspaper clippings...my bus passes from NYC? Today (after years of procrastination) I decided to take some studio time to carefully sharpen each one with my paint covered Panasonic awesome pencil sharpener that I have had since the 80's. It was very calming and wonderful walk down memory lane...I even remember where some of these sets come from!!! (ie. Germany- where they know how to truly make artist supplies).

Notes found when I got home...

My daughter loves to leave me little notes when I get home from my travels.
They are always so treasured by me. She and I are very attached to the sea...both Cancerians- I don't think we can help it. We just live for the water.
I rolled in way after midnight quite wiped out from a late flight from the East Coast, and to see these drawings in the dim candlelight on my pillow made the long travels worth it all. My son, being the tech-y one, texted me hilarious videos of the animals all cuddled up with him in bed before turning his lights out. Nothing quite like coming home to my little ones...

Nauset Beach...

I was given the best gift ever that I am so grateful for...after a wonderful walk down the beach with a dear friend, we looked up by the dunes and saw this seal pup. I knew we couldn't touch her, but it was so joyful watching her move about, coo at us, play, and it took about every ounce in my body not to touch and cuddle this beautiful creature. Thank you nature, thank you.

Provincetown, Cape Cod.

I love this place so much. I could wander for days through the streets to enjoy the color, form, water, skies, people...

Back on the Cape.

It's so great to be back here...it only took me less than a month to want to turn around and book another flight...the view of Sandy Neck is just yards from my cottage and one of my favorite walks.
The ice has receded, yet the gentle waves are still frozen. The colors are bright and beautiful against the snow...the ice reeds amazed me!

Early Evening Light 30 X 60"

Coastal Living.

I live by the sea both here in the Bay area and on the Cape back East. I don't know that I could be at peace if I didn't live close to the water. I walk the beach daily and it is the best start to my day before I go into the studio.
From my home, we drive 25 mins to Stinson Beach where my kids jump into wetsuits and stay in the ocean for over two hours...year around. Great waves this weekend...it's that part where you see them go out just a bit too far, but remembering -oh too well, -how great it was to catch that wave...
