Gratitude.
My daughter was in three amazing performances of School House Rock this weekend in the Marin Theatre Company plus two piano recitals and a vocal recital as well...it always happens that these things fall on the same weekend, but she made it through with smiles all the way with no complaints. So just before I got to bed I notice these notes left for me by the sink...how can I resist giving her what we both need so badly? Some time back on the Cape to fill our souls. She and I are born days apart in the month of June and are Cancerian through and through...we live for our nests (our home on the sea) and our time by and in the water.
Things in my day...
I feel like I always seem to have the same things surrounding me.
My journal calendar (moleskin), watercolors, paintbrushes, sketchbook, an inspirational magazine, a great book (The Crossroads between Should and Must by Ella Luna was AWESOME), my fountain pen, ...and a myriad of other things...

"March" (SOLD)
I had the great opportunity to meet and spend my morning with such a lovely client who has collected my paintings over the last ten years...Living abroad, it was a pure coincidence that she "happened" to be in San Francisco and "happened" to walk down Union Street to stumble upon my Studio sign...I just know we were supposed to meet. We had so many nice connections and now three of my paintings left the Studio to be joined with her art collection both on the East Coast and overseas. I am so honored and touched by our meeting and can't wait to see my landscapes in their homes!
Rununculus watercolor sketch...
I can't get enough of these flowers this season...the colors are so vibrant and their intricate and delicate petals are just so beautiful.
Sometimes a mistake can "make" a painting.
Right when I was done painting the watercolor above, I meant to move it aside to dry.. and just as I did that, the sleeve of my sweater dragged against the paint leaving the sky "streak".
Ironically, I love it and this watercolor makes me smile each time I see it. There are lessons in every mistake/ accomplishment in life.

When I get home at the end of the studio day, I still love to paint...but smaller and away from the larger size canvases...I revert to watercolor paper and my many many sets of watercolor paints...I'll never find a need to stop buying them...
#ihavethisthingforcolor.
I just discovered that hashtag and it cracked me up so much ....so me --- I'm crazy for color. But only on my paintings. Everything else is pretty neutral colored in my life, funny how that works...
My new favorite book....
I am beyond passionate about this book by Elle Luna.
Even though I found my calling 20 plus years ago and have extreme joy painting in my studio daily, this book speaks beyond just your passion, - it cleans the weeds out of your heart and spirit and let's you see the horizon of your life with eyes wide open.
Monticello Envelope (SOLD)
This painting/ collage has been with me since 2001.
It has traveled with me from my home back to the studio many times...it's one of my last envelopes on found wood and I hesitated in wanting to part with it over time and kept it off my website...but now it has found a home in Vienna, Austria because the person who really wanted to own it, was just the right fit. We had such a great discussion about the piece and she really understood the meaning behind it. I feel blessed to know it's in the right hands and home!!!

Beachwalk and then watercolor painting...
I live for my morning beach walks. L I V E for them...they are like a meditation for me, the only time of day when I can be alone, quiet, lost in thought, watch the dogs play, listen to the waves and simply get some salt air on me.

In a home...
Elizabeth Cooper is not only a great friend but amazing Interior Designer both on the East and West Coasts...I feel blessed that she loves my work and has collected a few of my little landscapes...she texted me these photos one afternoon in her home and I was thrilled to see them!

A rainy weekend allows for some quiet time...
There are times when I love when it rains for days...especially here in California where we need it so badly. It was fun to cozy up fireside and paint...
Nahcotta Gallery - Portsmouth, NH
I love having my work at the Nahcotta Gallery in Portsmouth, NH.
They have an annual show called Enormous Tiny Art - where artists contribute pieces that are all
10 X 10" and smaller...it was such fun painting this series and sending it to them!
