Where Barefeet and Sandy Floors Rule...a little town called Seaside

It's a long story how I ended up driving eight hours to this small town in Florida on the Gulf from the Atlantic...but it was on the bucket list and needed to be "checked off".  It is a very interesting architectural community that was built in the 80's that mastered urban life by the sea both in it's buildings and community.  I was drawn to it initially as my Father is an architect and always had a book called "Seaside" laying about that I would pour over. This past summer while on Block Island, I was introduced to Wendy Mignot's beautiful Tahitian pearl and leather jewelry and was told she lived in Seaside with her husband and two children. We became friends, pen pals -and I learned a bit about her life and how she ended up in this magical community with her husband and two children. They are a very talented family and we ended up exchanging some of our "art" which will be such a great memory for years to come. So when my husband and I came to the East Coast with our children for the holidays, we decided on this adventure road trip across the State to explore the town of Seaside. I wish I had better pics, but these were my few favorites.
