Hanging in a client's home in Washington DC...
Years ago a good friend left the Bay area to move back to the East Coast. This was a friend who I would take long walks with, cook dinners together and just simply get together often. We had the "East Coast" connection from our years loving our summers in Rhode Island-it's a connection that binds, understanding a personal loved landscape in that way.
It's so bittersweet to me when friend's move as you get so used to having them "just around the corner".
Years seem to fly by at a more rapid pace when reconnections happen as one did the other eve.
A wonderful email came through from this friend with whom I lost some regular contact. In the email was a photo of this painting she bought of mine to bring with her on her continued journey after leaving San Francisco...it has followed her through various States and now is living in Washington DC in her home. A bicoastal life it has had. I was grateful to see it again - and even more grateful to reconnect.
