Good Morning.
One of my favorite things in the world is connecting with like minded
artisans and this morning was one of them. A few weeks back
@jessieblack_sf stumbled onto our ivy covered courtyard where my Studio
is amongst others here in San Francisco. We had such a nice conversation
and planned to stay in touch. I immediately wanted to see more of her
design aesthetic and looked at her B E A U T I F U L website of her
interior design and boutique. Breakfast was planned for this morning
and after a rain drenched walk on the beach, I picked up some white
lilies ( we both adore white) and headed for her boutique on Sacramento
Street. If you haven't been, it's a must - and for those of you that
know me, - it was hard to leave such an inspirational space. Jessie saw
me looking at the beautiful grey beads she brought back from South
Africa -(draped in a beautiful bowl)- and put them on me saying "They're
yours - a gift because they are just you". So I will treasure these
always. Thank you Jessie for the kind gift, your way of being, your
insanely beautiful design sense and for gifting homes such beauty with
your incredible eye.

On the Island 30 X 40"
This painting was inspired by my April visit to Nantucket Island.
The Spring in bloom with the daffodils about, crisp air, still with that
off season feeling - so beautiful.
Poster for the Sturgis Library in Barnstable on Cape Cod...
My day took a wonderful turn when Megan from the beloved Sturgis Library in Barnstable on Cape Cod called me. She called to ask whether I could help them with a much needed favor of painting a poster for fundraising for our sweet library. She pictured a pitcher filing up a glass that needed more...(funds)--I figured we had a couple weeks but then she let me know the Board needed in 1-2 days max. Those are the times when you just get into gear and paint with everything you have. Throughout the day I kept texting Megan with the updated watercolor images and would ask for direction. Before you know it, 3000 miles away and various hours later we had the painting. I guess when it's for a good cause everything flows. Thank you so much for this inspirational opportunity and I hope I have contributed in the littlest way to such a special place!!!!

Case for Making
Case for Making is such a special little art store on Judah and 46th here in the City...the most beautifully curated art supply store I have been to and I can't wait to frequent them every few months! I think I must now own 12 watercolor sets, but why not have more?
Nick Bantock...
These books are my all time favorite. "Pharos Gate" is the latest of the series that just came out and I can't wait to curl up with it. "Griffin and Sabine" shaped a lot of my earlier work and I always carry the series in my heart as I paint. I own every one of them and what an epic story about connection despite the distance between two people in the world...and as many of you know, I'm an avid letter writer and sketchbook enthusiast!

A trip to the Islands...
I just returned after a week on the Cape at my cottage and some time on Nantucket as well...glorious sun filled crisp days to walk the beaches, to walk around the homes that haven't been opened up yet for the season, see all the daffodils and just take in the "off season" which I love!
